This program reviews the ICF core competency of Coaching Presence, including what it is and what it is not, what it includes, and why it is a significant asset to coaching at a transformational level. The program reviews what gets in the way of developing presence (e.g. habits, self-talk, etc.) and actions to take (doing) to shape ‘presence’ for the coach, the client and the environment.

The program also considers strengthening presence to get to the ‘being’ level, an inner state of openness to uncertainty and possibility. Using the four levels or modes of coaching presence (as defined by Iliffe-Wood), participants examine the consciousness and awareness that support coaching from each mode and the benefit to the client of flexing as client needs change. Participants additionally commit to a practice or practices that will strengthen their own coaching presence.
