I Can Fly, LLC is a coaching service for attorneys. Its founder, Pat Snyder, practiced law for 28 years before becoming a coach, and speaks from experience.
“The practice of law can be both fulfilling and overwhelming,” she says. “Attorneys often take care of everyone but themselves. By working confidentially with a coach, they can work on strategies for taking their personal and professional lives to the next level and also hold themselves accountable for achieving big picture goals.”
Her practice focuses on several distinct areas:
• Transitioning from one law firm to another
• Transitioning from law to another field
• Applying personal strengths and interests to developing a practice area and building a book of business
• Making even small changes to find more joy in existing work
• Managing work and family life
Pat is a Certified Professional Co-active Coach, trained through the Coaches Training Institute of San Rafael, California, and holds the ACC certification through the International Coach Federation.
She also studied positive psychology with positive psychology pioneer Martin P. Seligman, at the University of Pennsylvania, where she earned her Master of Applied Positive Psychology degree in 2012. At Penn, she conducted an empirical research study of the use of character strengths by successful women attorneys.
Because of her training in positive psychology, Pat uses a strengths-based approach to coaching, designed to increase work satisfaction, expand creative thinking, and provide tools to boost positive mood.
When she’s not coaching, Pat writes a humor column, “Balancing Act,” about our crazy, overbooked lives, and also blogs for the website Ms. JD (ms-jd.org).
